General meeting of
EITI Coalition (30/06/2006)
Following 7th general meeting of EITI had held in Baku Press
Center in 30th June 2006. 49 members of Coalition and guests had
participated in the event. Coordinator of Coalition Council Sabit Bagirov
informed about activity of Council since last general meeting and about
following period. Later, managers of different project held within activity
plan of Coalition for 2006-2007 years, Sevgim Rahmanov, Oktay Gulaliyev,
Fagan Aliyev, Osman Gunduz, Zohrab Ismayil, Vahid Gazi, Fuad Rasulov,
Ehtiram Aliyev and Ilham Huseynov informed about those projects, current
situation and planned works. After these reports, Himayat Rizvangizi
declared Monitoring Groups (MG) opinion on Council’s activity. In the
opinion Council’s activity mainly evaluated well, but there also were some
defects.
Later, members of Coalition discussed lectures and MG’s opinion, and evaluated Council’s activity. 21 people spoke in discussions and at the end Council’s activity estimated as acceptable. Immediate task in the agenda was Mayis Gulaliyev’s offer about officially registration of EITI and to make formal juridical status of it. Author of the offer made a speech and explained offer’s essence. After discussions general meeting considered that to carry on Coalition’s activity as present form is expedient. Later participants discussed Fuad Gahramanli’s suggestion about Coalition member’s afresh registration. General Meeting decided to create working group and preparing proper suggestions in this purpose. After break general meeting discussed to widen Coalition Council’s composition. It was decided to raise Council’s members number from 9 to 11. Mehriban Vazir and Nariman Agayev were selected to Council. At the final 7 people who applied for Coalition membership were accepted.
