General meetings of the Coalition

Agenda of the Meeting: 1) Information of Council; 2) Discussion of addition and changes to the Regulation; 3) Discussion and admitting Activity Plan on Environment Protection prepared by ecologists; 4) Final discussions;

EITI Coalition had held its 10th General Meeting in 20th October at the Conference Hall of “Af-Hotel-AquaPark”. General Meeting launched with sounding national anthem by participants. Chairman of EITI Commission, Executive Director of State Oil Fund Shahmar Movsumov’s OSI AF’s, embassies’ of Norway and Great Britain and other international organizations’ and oil companies’ congratulation and greeting letters addressed to the General Meeting had been read.

Coalition’s 9th General Meeting had been held. 66 Coalition members took part in the meeting. Discussed issues:- to organize coalition’s activity for 2007 year, and later for 2009 year;- to discuss the documents that balance coalition’s and its bodies(Council, Monitoring Group) activity, improving and preparing new  documents;- to continue actions that embody in the memorandum(5th report on EITI and to prepare an alternative opinion to audit opinion);- correspondence with donor organizations and to conduct  negotiations;- to complete specifying of coalition members and admitting new members;- to strengthen relations with an international and regional associates.

The next general meeting of Coalition held in 22nd December of 2006 year. Coalition’s 62 members and guests took part in the meeting. Coordinator of Coalition Council Sabit Bagirov informed about Council’s activity since last meeting. . Later, managers of different project held within activity plan of Coalition for 2006-2007 years, Oktay Gulaliyev, Fagan Aliyev, Osman Gunduz, Zohrab Ismayil, Vahid Gazi, Fuad Rasulov, Ehtiram Aliyev  informed about those projects and done actions.

Following 7th general meeting of EITI had held in Baku Press Center in 30th June 2006. 49 members of Coalition and guests had participated in the event.  Coordinator of Coalition Council Sabit Bagirov informed about activity of Council since last general meeting and about following period. Later, managers of different project held within activity plan of Coalition for 2006-2007 years, Sevgim Rahmanov, Oktay Gulaliyev, Fagan Aliyev, Osman Gunduz, Zohrab Ismayil, Vahid Gazi, Fuad Rasulov, Ehtiram Aliyev and Ilham Huseynov informed about those projects, current situation and planned works. After these reports, Himayat Rizvangizi declared Monitoring Groups (MG) opinion on Council’s activity. In the opinion Council’s activity mainly evaluated well, but there also were some defects.
